“Lagip” is an Ilokano word which means remembering. This is based on the artist father's ethnicity and local dialect.
The thesis is a series of paintings of places as a visual narrative of bereavement, focusing on a variety of images, places, and related objects associated with the subject - one's own home and the hospital where they have fond memories of the artist’s final moments with his father. The artist attempts to create a metaphorical relationship between these two different subjects by integrating them. This will show the impacts, conditions, and events that occurred in the past and present.
The paintings are divided into five parts consisting of four small canvases and a large shaped canvas. The overall shape of the output is based on the floor plan of the artist’s home which, on the other hand, is a physical representation or connection that can be brought closer to the memories of the deceased loved one.
